(This number is changeable in Preferences) Player one begins the game by taking all the beads from one of his/her bins, and ‘sowing’ them counter clockwise around the board. While going around the board, a player places a stone in his/her Mancala, but not the opponents Mancala. The person with the most beads at the end wins. I don't think the African's ever played this on a Mac!

At the beginning of a game, the entire deck of cards is dealt out, face up, in four rows. Then, the Aces are removed. This makes four "holes" in the deck. The object of the game is to line the cards up starting with twos on the left. The cards must also be lined up by suit. For example, the three of clubs should follow the two of clubs. In the case of a "hole" on the far left, you may place a two (of any suit) there. One consequence of these rules is that any holes directly to the right of a King are "dead." After all, what card goes after a King? Try it!

Once you pick a puzzle, your chosen puzzle will come up onto the main screen, divided into 25 pieces, which is the default value. If you'd like to change the number of pieces, you have to choose the "Gridsize..." option from the menu. The other functions of the Puzzler menu allow you to get rid of the small help window, and turn off the sound. Requires System 7 and looks best with 256+ colors.

If you hit it, it will vanish and a new one will appear somewhere else, until you either hit all the targets for that level, or you run out of time. If you run out of time, the game is over. You control the ball by placing bumpers in its path. When the ball hits a bumper, it bounces off at a 90 degree angle. There are two kinds of bumpers - ones that lean right, like a slash /, and ones that lean left, like a backslash \. To place a bumper, press the slash or backslash keys on your keyboard. Have fun!

The players alternate turns selecting tiles from the board and receiving the corresponding point value for the turn. Once a tile is selected it can no longer be chosen again. Easy to learn/hard to master!

OuterLimits allows you to create individual sets or "groups" of speed, ammo, and shield settings. Simply select the group you wish to use and quit OuterLimits. OuterLimits applies the selected group's settings to the preferences file automatically. Launch Spectre Supreme and play! Your new settings are already there. Spectre Supreme is a commercial game.

To keep you from getting bored, there is also a point to the adventure - find a specified number of crystals and then find the exit portal and get out. The crystals are placed in random positions, far enough from you to make the game interesting. When you find a crystal, take it by walking into it. When you pick up the last crystal, you will hear a different sound to indicate that you should now start looking for the exit portal. Fun.

Still, it's a fun one, and you shoot out of a tea pot!! Changes - now runs correctly on 12 and 13 inch monitors. Fixed an opening audio glitch with Sound Mgr 3.0. Sprite movement has been sped up a bit.

If enough damage is dealt to the walls, the city will fall and the enemy will pour into the city, destroying everything they get their hands on. Good graphics!!

The tiles are randomly placed at the beginning of the game, but every game is a potential winner if played flawlessly. If you make a mistake along the way, however, then it is possible to run into a dead end. When you are convinced that no more matches exist press the 'SURRENDER' button. The game then ends and if you have a high score it is recorded. You get one point for every pair of tiles that you match, the highest is 75.

Each level of the city has five floors, some walls, and some trampolines. To get to different floors you can either jump down or bounce back up by walking or falling onto a trampoline. You can only exit a trampoline by moving Scruffy right or left, but only while bouncing up. Fun!

This implementation allows you to play 27 different variations of the game, including 18 variations of 12 Men's Morris which was invented in the 1800's. The object of the game is to capture all but two of the opponent's men, or block him so he is unable to move.

It is your goal to find a path out of the dungeon by pushing massive blocks of stone out of your way. This is a very tricky task because the stones are so heavy that you can move them only one by one and you need space to step back and run. You have to develop a strategy to move the pieces in the correct order, otherwise the stones will block the way to the exit. A piece pushed to the wrong place could become an obstacle for removing another block from your path. There are 30 levels of increasing difficulty. Blocks with special properties may appear at higher levels. Enjoy! Should work with 6.07; works with System 7.

It requires 16 colors or greater, has cool graphics, and has features not normally found in breakout. For one thing, the paddle is oriented so that it moves up and down, and the paddle is in the middle of the playing area, so you can hit to either side. Watch out, there are bricks that you should not hit!! Game play is quite fast. This is a great one from the author of Beebop! When you first open the game, a ball will bounce around like crazy, it's picking the speed for your Mac (I think). It takes a few seconds to load, be patient. Bridges do not have to be straight lines.The winning bridge must only be a solid path from one goal to the other. Of course, the bridge must be made up entirely of the winning player's hexes. In this game, you take the role of a skier in a championship. You can run practice runs, compete in separate games or run entire cups with several games. What you see on the screen is something like what you would see in TV - the skier seen from above. This is a new updated color version!! Check it out.

When you begin a new game, 14 cards are drawn randomly for the Mac and 14 for the player. The player opens his game by playing at least one group of 3 cards or more, using only the cards on his palette. The sum of those cards values must be 25 or more. After the player has opened the game, he can use the cards on the board to complete groups with cards on his palette. The player can move or reorganise all the cards on the board. HemiRoids was nominated for the 1993 MacUser ShareWare award for best shareware entertainment product. Requires - System 6.0.7 or later, 8-bit color, enough memory to give it an 1200K partition, and 32-bit QuickDraw. This version has lots of fixes and works on AV Macs and the Sound Manager 3.0. Check it out!

The objective of the game is to place as many lines as possible on the given shape. A line can be placed vertically, horizontally, or diagonally so that it passes thru four or five occupied verticies (the fifth will be added if it's missing). Lines may not overlap each other, except at individual points. Try it out! Henri says with some practice you should be able to go above 100 and that he could go to around 200.

The demo version will not let you save a game part way through and restricts some options, but you can play through to the end. You can not play over appletalk, or vary the map parameters with this version, but it'll give you a good view of the game! If you get sleepy and want to save, send them $25.

This version marks an important advance for Spectre World Editor. It has moved from a week long hack to a sophisticated editor. Make sure you use the editor on a copy and not your original disk of this great commercial game.

What makes it hard is that you can only push one treasure at a time (they’re too heavy to push two at once), and there are no handholds (you can only push, not pull). So you have to make sure that you don’t get a treasure stuck in a corner, or that you don’t get two of them stuck against each other. It will usually take some thought (maybe quite a bit) to figure out how to solve a level. But all 85 levels are solvable. And you can make your own levels when you get tired of the ones included. This version adds better looking walls and graphics, bigger undo buffer, new movement options and more.

It gets fun when you fire shots between hitting the ball with the paddle! Each level places the bricks in a different pattern, this is really a fun game!! Also includes desktop ppats (for use with Desktop Textures Installer) in case you want to install some of the patterns seen within the game.

When you start Lemmings you'll locate and open the file. Always make a copy of the original Levels file first! You can open a level by its ID (this is NOT the same as the level number) or find a level by typing in (part of) its name. This is case-sensitive. Just change any of the parameters using the usual Macintosh editing tools. Select the "Save" button to save the changes or the "Don't Save" button to discard the changes. Lemmings is a commercial game.

You move your current tile with the mouse, and rotate it by pressing the space bar. You can place it in any open square on the board by clicking the mouse in that square. You receive points for each tile you place, the number of points depending on how quickly you place the tile. If you haven't placed a tile when the "points for this tile" timer runs out, that tile will automatically be placed in the nearest available square. The game is over when the board is full. Tiles disappear from the board when they are surrounded on 3 sides by matching colors. The more that disappear, the higher the score!

However, Bachman has some features that you might not expect. The graphics are "pseudo-3D", not as flat as classic Pacman games. There are bonus objects ("overdrives" and "treasure chests"), teleporters, plus Bachman's ability to shoot biscuits at the enemies to delay them (but not to bypass them). Simply click on cards to flip them over. If you get a match, the cards are removed from the playing area, your score is incremented, and you get another turn. The arrows at the bottom of the playing area keep track of whose turn it is. The first person to fill up their scoreboxes at the bottom of the screen wins. There is a tie-breaking mechanism included.

The sound effects are very important to the ambiance of the game and adds a level of minor distraction, testing your concentration levels as well as your ability to hold back from swearing at your monitor. There are a certain number of tiles on the screen (which you can specify), and the purpose is to match pairs of Concentroids (great animated things) hidden beneath each tile. There are some additional “extras” however, that gives the game a little spice - time limit, scoring, wildcards, consecutive matches give bonuses, statistics, and cool sound effects, music and animation. Even if you don't like concentration games, this one is cool! Requires System 7. Take a look!

Sound easy? It is not. Blocks come in two colors and four shapes - square, ring, plus and diamond. That's also the hierarchy in which the blocks are ordered, with diamond being the highest block. Pushing two blocks together of the same order but of opposite color transmogrifies the two blocks into one block of the next lowest order, or in the case of pushing two squares together, both will disappear. The hard part is that you have to push blocks of opposite color together, and sometimes the blocks get stuck up against walls. The music is enjoyable, as is the game.

This number or empty square tells you how many mines are in the immediately surrounding eight squares (six if you clicked on a side square, or three if you clicked on a corner square). This is a game of luck and logic based on the traditional MineSweeper.

It is modular like After Dark (tm or something), in that games can be added and taken away at will. Each game is called a RuleBook. It is also capable of playing these rulebooks over a network. It can be run in the background and ignored, until someone connects to you over the network and asks you to play a game. One of its features is that if you do not have that rulebook, and you want it, GameMaster will automatically download it (or learn it), so you can then play it. It also handles upgrading in much the same way. If someone has a newer version of a rulebook that he wants to play with you, you can upgrade it.

The demo version does not include any of the rule editing facilities, the map parameters (size and density) can only be varied among tight limits and saved games cannot be read back in.
